About Northshore Yorkshire Terriers
Thank you for visiting Northshore Yorkshire Terriers! We are now located in Cookeville TN, equally convenient to Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga. We relocated from Knoxville,TN along the "Northshore" of the Tennessee river.
I purchased my first Yorkie in 1989 and have been hooked ever since. I have been a Yorkshire Terrier breeder for 20 years and am very passionate about what I do. I love and enjoy my dogs. I can't think of any work I would rather do than raise Yorkie puppies. I feel very fortunate and am thankful for the Yorkies that I have and have had in my life. My goal is to provide healthy, tiny, beautiful, teacup Yorkie puppies of superior quality as companions to loving homes.
Why choose a Yorkie puppy from Northshore Yorkshire Terriers? We are NOT a kennel. Our dogs are part of our home and we spend a tremendous amount of time cleaning, loving and caring for them. It is extremely important, when choosing a Yorkie breeder, to know that your new puppy will be well socialized. All puppies are raised with lots of love and attention from day one. We also guarantee the health of our puppies, in writing, for up to 2 years. I am here anytime day or night to answer any questions or concerns my clients might have. A lifetime of breeder support comes with each Yorkie puppy that goes out the door. All of our dogs are AKC registered.
References are available upon request.
Many of our Yorkie puppies go to homes within driving distance to us. However, at least 30% of our Yorkies go to clients all over the United States. I work with couriers who personally accompany your Yorkie puppy in the cabin of the airplane. The charge for this service is very reasonable. I will not ship puppies via air cargo.
Whether you choose to buy your Yorkie puppy from NYT or another Yorkie breeder, first do your homework! Make sure your Yorkie breeder is reputable and will stand behind the puppies they sell. A reputable breeder will provide you with a written health guarantee for at least 1 year. Also, make sure that your breeder is willing to show you the dam and sire of any Yorkie puppy for sale. If you are too far to actually visit the breeder, at least make sure that you are able to see photos of the Yorkie puppy's dam and sire. Avoid puppy mills at all costs. (Most puppies sold in pet shops are raised in puppy mills.) Please feel free to call me if you should have any questions or if I can be of help in any way!

I have been in love with puppies and dogs for as long as I can remember. This picture was taken of me, in my Papaw's barn, playing with his Beagle puppies.
I began breeding Yorkies before my son's were born. I have been very fortunate to be able to do what I love while staying home to raise my boy's. They are a tremendous help to me with all of the "dog chores" that must be done at our house.
This picture was taken at an AKC Dog Show with my dear friend, mentor and successful Yorkie breeder, Glenda Beavers of Tsa-La-Gi Yorkshire Terriers. My experiences in the show ring and hanging out with Glenda, have taught me so much about correct conformation and quality in the Yorkshire Terrier. I strive very hard to meet those standards in my breeding program.
